This weed
map of the pampas grass in Manzanita Park was a project of university
students at California State University at Monterey Bay. The
yellow dots on the map represent individual pampas plants and
the orange areas represent heavy infestations where plants are
close together. The pink and purple areas are ball fields and
the red lines show where trails are.
One thing
you can see from this map is that the orange areas are in places
where the ground has been disturbed, and the areas with old growth
Manzanita
bushes are the least infested with pampas grass.
