The 450 acre Nature Preserve area in Manzanita
Park provides a fine example of maritime chaparral habitat. The
park is home to 3 kinds of Manzanita shown on the home page.
- Invasive
Plants: There are also several non-native invasive plants
in the park. These plants are called invasive because they aggressively
compete with native plants and threaten the diversity of the habitat.
- Native
Plants: Many native plants can be seen along the trails in
the park. Here is a list of native plant pictures with their common
and Latin names.
