The
leaves of Hooker's Manzanita are very different than leaves on the
other types of Manzanita in the park. The leaves have very obvious
stems (petioles) and the leaves are very green, not blue green like
the Pajaro and Brittle-leaf Manzanitas. The Hooker's Manzanita tends
to grow closer to the ground, spreading out rather than up, unless
it has no choice. When it is surrounded by other plants, it can grow
fairly tall.
